Competitions for Music, Documentary, Comedy, and Horror
PyxWorld™/2008 is ¡°Connecting Artist With AudienceSM¡±

Hollywood, CA, April 2, 2008.PyxWorldTM/2008, a year-long program of multi-media, multi-genre, multi-national events ¡°Connecting Artist with AudienceSM¡±, was launched today by Pyxix® Corporation, a global diversified media company with a network of broadband entertainment channels.
Kicking off PyxWorldTM/2008 are competitions open to artists everywhere. Artists are invited to submit original content in various genres: music, documentary, comedy, and horror. More than $50,000 in cash, prizes and promotion will be awarded throughout the year. Winners will be showcased at a year-end awards gala in Hollywood. Artists are urged to submit their entries as soon as possible in order to qualify for more prizes and to get more promotion and feedback from worldwide fans and peers.

PyxWorld/2008 to inspire and promote artists¡¯ best works
¡°PyxWorld/2008 is an ambitious next step that Pyxix is taking to inspire, promote and distribute best works from filmmakers, comedians and musicians around the world. Our goal is ¡®Connecting Artist With Audience™¡¯ by eliminating geographic, language and economic barriers. Built upon our four innovative entertainment channels, PyxWorld/2008 is an exciting year-long program of events for our global community,¡± said Pyxix CEO Amit Tripathi.
¡°PyxWorld/2008 is being launched today with these competitions, and will continue throughout the year with a series of events, including gatherings and knowledge sharing events in America, Europe and Asia. PyxWorld/2008 events culminate in a December awards gala in Hollywood,¡± Tripathi explained.
Competitions are first of PyxWorld/2008 events
Phase one of PyxWorld/2008 is four competitions open to all artists ¡ª amateur, aspiring and professional ¡ª anywhere in the world and in any language and format. Viewers will provide feedback to submissions posted on DocuPyx.com, ComedyPop.com, UrbanChillers.com or PyxTunes.com. Finalists will be selected by a group of judges and the winners will be selected by audience vote. Finalists and winners will be recognized at the awards gala event in December in Hollywood.
Below are details about the four competitions.
The WorldSong Music Competition, sponsored by the broadband entertainment channel PyxTunes™, is for music and music videos. Entries are now accepted and will close on August 31, 2008. Details are at PyxTunes.com. PyxTunes™, ¡°Global Music Network,¡± is the online hot spot for musicians and music lovers of all genres. Audiences from all over the globe can discover new independent artists. Artists and audience can share music and information, provide feedback, and collaborate.
The 2nd Annual Global Visions Documentary Contest is open to film and video makers worldwide starting April 1, 2008. Submissions may be up to 30 minutes in length, in any language, and masters can be in any format as long as submissions can be uploaded online. Entries close August 15, 2008. Details are posted at DocuPyx.com. DocuPyx™ Documentary Channel, ¡°Connecting the World,¡± is the online meeting place for documentary filmmakers, critics and viewers. Both professionals and amateurs from around the globe can submit, watch and comment on documentaries on a wide range of subjects.
The 2nd Annual Battle of the Comedians, sponsored by the broadband entertainment channel ComedyPop™, is for stand-up comedy in any language, up to 10 minutes in length. Submissions must be uploaded online. Entries will be accepted starting April 1, 2008 and will close June 30, 2008. After that. semifinalists will be battling each other until the last one stands in November. Details are at ComedyPop.com. ComedyPop™, ¡°Laugh Til It Hurts,¡± is an online comedy club where established and aspiring stand-up comedians, comedic actors and comedy filmmakers can submit, view and rate comedy clips from around the world.
The SCREAM, a Mobile Video Contest, sponsored by the horror entertainment channel UrbanChillers®, will be accepting worldwide mobile video submissions starting May 1, 2008. There will be monthly winners judged by desktop viewers for the most creative on camera scream. The scream cuts across all language barriers and still can be funny or terrifying depending on the mobile filmmaker's creativity. Details will be announced soon for the "Summer of Screams" at UrbanChillers.com. UrbanChillers®, ¡°The Original Home of Fear,¡± is where horror and fear artists, writers and filmmakers can upload and show their work and interact with fans worldwide.

PyxWorld/2008 events will include face-to-face networking opportunities for artists and audience, knowledge sharing seminars and webinars, and local gatherings on three continents.
